We have been loving the holiday DIYs this year and this ghost garland is no exception. Made with very simple items it is easy to make and looks so cute hanging up! We strung ours on our blanket ladder, but it can be hung from a mantle, on the wall, around a pillar, or from the ceiling. There are so many options.
For this garland we just gather all of our supplies first. We are using different sizes of small styrofoam balls, some cheese cloth, push pins, U pins (sewing) and twine. You can use any color string, twine or ribbon you’d like to hang your ghost, but we use twine for so much in our home, I knew it would follow the theme. We didn’t do it for this garland, but adding a string of LED lights would be a festive addition. A fun extra would be to add googly eyes or glow in the dark paint! To make your garland, start with the ghosts. Cut your cheese cloth out and fill each piece with a styrofoam ball in the center. Turn over and fold over the cloth, then gather under the styrofoam ball. I used the small black push pins as eyes to adhere the two and then use one of the U pins on top. This pin will be there to string the twine or ribbon through. Once you are finished with your ghosts, string through each of the U pins and press down on the pin where you would like the ghost to stay on the string. Tie off where you would like to display this fun garland and enjoy the Halloween spooky season! Not feeling spooky? Substitute the cheese cloth for colorful squares of fabric and make the ghosts a little more fun!
