I want to preface this post by saying that I do enjoy the Harry Potter movies.
The day after Christmas is ideally one to be enjoyed at home. A movie marathon while hanging in your pajamas and playing with your new gifts or just relaxing after a busy week of travel and events. What better series to binge than the Harry Potter movies? This Spiked Butter Beer is sure to add to the coziness and enjoyment of the lazy afternoon!
They are my husband’s go to movie to put on when there is nothing on, he doesn’t really need to pay attention or just to have the noise on in the background. It literally plays on several channels each day and we own them all. When my husband is home, you can bet that we see Harry Potter on the screen several times a week, if not more. Usually I don’t mind, but sometimes I just want something different and not watch the same thing over and over again. I had this drink on my list for quite awhile so that when I want to spend quality time with my husband and he insists on Harry Potter I will at least have some enjoyment..hahaha
This drink is super easy and super delicious! I would definitely make this regularly to enjoy for any occasion. To make this drink gather your ingredients: vanilla vodka, cream soda and soda water. If you don’t have a Sodastream I insist you get one sooner than later. It makes random ingredients like soda water so easy to make at home and was a great investment for our home (and cocktail making!). A couple of optional, but fun ingredients would be caramel and redi-whip. This recipe makes 2 good sized cocktails and is simply 1 12oz can (or bottle) of cream soda, 6 ounces of soda water, and 2/3 cup of vodka.
*This is a decent pour of vodka for 2 drinks. Feel free to adjust if you aren’t a vodka drinker like I am…..
**If you want to make this into a punch for a group the measurements are: 6 12oz cans (or bottles) of cream soda, 3 12oz cans of soda water and 3.5 cups of vanilla vodka.
***To make a non-alcoholic version for the kiddos simply mix cream soda with butterscotch sauce and mix well
To make this recipe simply mix the ingredients together into a pitcher or large glass. I like using mugs for the individual drinks and garnish them with caramel sauce before pouring. Next, pour the drink and finish off with whipped topping and additional caramel sauce. SO GOOD!!
One day when Gracen gets older I expect to do a full out Harry Potter marathon with food and decorations, but for now I will be entertained with just the cocktails. Stay tuned for more in the future though! As always, thank you for reading and joining us on this journey. Please drink responsibly. Simply, Beth
