Looking for a red, flavorful cocktail to celebrate Valentine’s Day with? The pomegranate martini is stunning and a great choice whether you are celebrating with a group, or a quiet evening at home. The color of this martini is a vibrant red, has refreshing tang and a touch of sweetness. It is sure to please all who try it.
Pomegranate martinis are special because of the pomegranate juice. It brings a tartness to the smoothness of the vodka and sweetness of the Grand Marnier. This balanced cocktail looks beautiful and perfectly on theme for Valentine’s Day. Don’t forget to sugar your rim for a little extra. I also love that you can adjust the level of vodka or pomegranate juice to bring the drink to your level.
The ingredients you will need for this cocktail are: vodka, pomegranate juice, Grand Marnier (Cointreau or triple sec works too) and lemon juice. If you sugar your rim, don’t forget the sugar and make sure to have a shaker and ice ready to go. I like to garnish with pomegranate seeds as well.
If you like your glass as cold as your cocktail, add ice water to your martini glass to chill it while you mix your drink. To make this drink simply combine all ingredients into your shaker, along with ice and shake for about twenty seconds. The goal is to really chill the mixture. Once you have a chilled mixture, empty your chilling martini glass and swipe the rim with a lemon slice. Then press your glass into a thin layer of sugar for your rim. Strain the mixture into your glass and add some pomegranate seeds. Enjoy!
This vibrant, red drink is perfect whether you are staying in, celebrating with friends or even attending a Galentine’s Day event. The simple preparation can be our secret when you mix this cocktail for your friends or significant other. They are sure to be impressed. I happen to enjoy these drinks when I’m in the kitchen baking, as you can see in the photo.
