Halloween is my favorite holiday and I love to theme out for this occasion. We have made small adjustments to our normal décor, but also big, big things as well. (we hosted a Halloween party, but tore up the floors for a renovation project before the party started to give the house a haunted house vibe before we really intended to). Drinks will always be in the spirit of the holiday and this Halloween Mimosa is no different!
We are starting pretty simple with our drinks for the Halloween theme we are running and this is a great addition to any holiday event. It is simple and inexpensive and has many way to incorporate your favorite ingredients.
The mimosa is traditionally champagne and orange juice. Many will substitute sparkling wine, like Prosecco. I prefer less juice in mine and would opt for cranberry over orange juice for this cocktail. There are lots of ways to make a mimosa, which is why we feature one each month!
For this recipe we are using basic champagne and grenadine. I would also suggest cranberry here as a good option for the red. For a fun effect rim the edge of your glass with colored sugar to really make an impact for Halloween. We used a non-staining food coloring to dye our sugar black. To rim your glass, simply dip your glass in a shallow bowl of water, followed by dipping into another shallow bowl of dyed sugar. Fill 1-2 tsp in a syringe with grenadine and serve on top. The presentation is simple, but so special.
We hope you enjoyed this easy, but fun, cocktail for Halloween! Remember to choose a dry champagne to help take away from the sweetness of the grenadine.
