Let’s give our previous Mule recipe a twist and substitute the vodka for Tequila! The Mexican Mule highlights Tequila in the copper mugs for a different take on the drink we love.
To make a mule, start with a copper mule mug that is filled with ice. Pour in your tequila, fresh lime juice, and ginger beer. Stir these ingredients together and add a lime garnish. Do you like spicy things? Try a spicy ginger beer or jalapeno infused tequila. There are many variations on mules that make this simple and refreshing drink perfect for everyone.
Why the copper mug? While there are many reasons that the copper mug is used for mule cocktails, there are two reasons that really stand out. Let us know in the comments about your thoughts on the copper mug.
- Temperature Control: This metal cup is perfect to help keep your drink colder longer
- Taste: Many think that drinking from a copper mug enhances the flavors of the Mule, particularly the ginger beer, by providing a subtly metallic taste that complements the spicy and tangy elements of the cocktail. I have to agree on this one! It gives it a little something extra that makes these so special.
