What is it?

Rosemary is a shrub that is native to the Mediterranean. It has needles like an evergreen and flowers. The needles are fragrant and packed with flavor and the flowers can be white, pink, blue or purple. While it is considered an herb, this plant is a shrub. It is a perennial and has many uses. This plant is packed with antioxidants and is a healthy addition to cooking and baking.

Uses for:

Rosemary is largely used for cooking. The needles/leaves of this shrub are an amazing addition to recipes and add a woody aromatic flavor to dishes. Rosemary can also be used medicinally, and in aromatherapy. At Tin Box, we use it for cooking regularly, but also love adding it to our aromatherapy and scent routines. On occasion, you can also find it is a stir stick/garnish in one of our cocktails!

Benefits of Using the Essential Oils:

Studies have been done to look at the health benefits and possible benefits include improved concentration, memory and digestion. While results can be different for people, studies have shown that the essential oil of rosemary can stimulate hair growth, repel some bugs, ease stress, increase circulation, increase alertness and reduce joint inflammation. We love adding rosemary bath bombs to our soaks, along with eucalyptus when we are feeling sore and swollen.

Tin Box Products that use Rosemary:

If you decide to use the essential oil, please do your own research before ingesting or applying to your skin. It does not have the same effect for everyone. While I am an avid user, I am not a health professional. Please reach out if you have any questions and ask your health professional before starting a medicinal routine. We look forward to sharing more about our ingredients and hearing how you use them in your own home! Thank you for reading.
