Strawberry Lime Mocktail

Sometimes a mocktail will fit the bill for a fun drink that is full of flavor, but not alcohol. This mocktail is perfect for a fun celebration (like Valentine’s Day) or in the summer when it is warm outside and something sparkling just sounds fun! This mocktail is easy to put together and looks so festive for all ages! Happy drinking!

Everyone knows that I’d prefer to add some tequila to this mix (which you totally can if you’d like!), but I am sticking with mocktails at the moment to liven up the large amount of water I’ve been drinking while pregnant. I don’t miss the cocktails as much as I thought that I would, but water certainly gets old when you drink nothing but that all day long. This festive and fun mocktail makes it feel a bit more special and lot less boring come evening and we hope you enjoy!

As I always say, gather all of your ingredients before you get started. I like doing this so I don’t get distracted during the process and also to make sure that I have all of the ingredients before, and not halfway though making a recipe. Sounds silly, but it has happened more times than I’d like to admit.

For this recipe I need a fun glass (these can glasses are on Amazon and I love them!), fresh strawberries and a lime, sugar to rim the glass and a strawberry soda. I’ve made this recipe many times in the start of my pregnancy and sometimes strawberry soda can be hard to find in stores, so you may need to order it. I always look at a local grocery store first (Weis has strawberry soda in their brand of soft drinks, but even there I haven’t been able to find it). Sometimes I have to order it to get the strawberry goodness. Brands like Crush, Fanta, Jarritos and Goya all carry a Strawberry flavor.

First rim your glass with sugar, just remember to use a slice of lime to wet the rim before dunking in sugar. You can purchase a sugar rim package at the store, or make your own using a plate or one of these fun round tools! Simply use lime juice around the rim and press firmly in the sugar. Start to build your drink with lime and diced strawberries. I suggest lightly muddling these fruits so that you get a bit more flavor in your drink. Add ice if you prefer it extra cold and then fill with your soda. If the strawberry flavor is too thick for you, adding lemon lime soda is the perfect thing to lighten the taste. Add a fresh lime wedge and strawberry to your rim for flair and enjoy!
