Simple, classy and full of spooky spirit (get it…spirit?!). That is what this martini is all about. We love vodka based drinks and this martini is a mix of that and our favorite holiday: Halloween! The red sugar rim and red color from the Chambord make this a great beverage for the spooky season!
This cocktail makes for the perfect addition to a Halloween party, or something fun to sip on while handing out candy on Trick or Treat night! The red color is bold and the taste is slightly tart. It is sure to be loved by all who try it.
This cocktail’s ingredients include vodka, Chambord (a raspberry liqueur), and champagne. We used a red sugar rim, but a a raspberry or cherry would make for great garnish as well! You can add cranberry juice or tart cherry juice to this drink as well. Very simple equipment list for this recipe as well; you will just need a cocktail shaker, martini glass and ice.
To make this recipe, start by rimming your martini glass with the red sugar. This step is optional, but should be done first when you are doing it. I love the colorful sugars and hope to start adding salts with a bit of colors eventually too! Sometimes I’ll use a cut lime and slide around the rim of the glass, but today I set two small plates up for this. One plate held a thin layer of water and the other held the sugar. Simply put the glass in the water, making sure the the rim, inside and out, is wet and then dip, roll and smudge the glass into the sugar to make sure you have full coverage. Next I add about one and a half ounces of vodka and about half an ounce of Chambord to the shaker, along with some ice. Shake to chill and pour into the martini glass. Then fill the remainder of the glass with champagne. Finally float the remaining portion of the Chambord on top, by pouring very slowly over the back of spoon. Enjoy!
