Cheers to you!

With the fall weather coming in quickly, we are in the mood to get started with some fall drinks! One thing that we are in no short supply of where we live (or where we lived in Washington) is apples! We literally live in the center of so so many orchards and enjoy fresh fruit every season! The orchard season ends with apples and the Apple festivals have already started and will continue through October. While I’m not a huge shot person anymore, I did want to enjoy one for Thirsty Thursday. Jorge is always up for testing out drink recipes for the blog, so last week we had a few Washington Apples!

Just 3 ingredients!!

The Washington Apple shot or drink is simply 3 basic ingredients: Crown Royal, Sour Apple Pucker and cranberry juice. According to the Crown Royal website the measures are: 1.25 oz of Crown Royal, .25oz of apple schnapps and 1.5oz of cranberry juice. We went by their recipe first and liked the shot, but felt that the edge of Crown was a bit much and added a little more apple.

Our shaker and measuring tool really makes pouring easy

We upped the apple to a half ounce and made 4 shots from one recipe. Simply add the ingredients to a shaker of ice and shake a few times to chill. Pour into shot glasses and cheers! Jorge enjoyed the update to the recipe so much, we made a second batch which was enough for one cocktail!

Jorge’s cocktail for the evening

We are very basic people and don’t often stray from our usual drinks, but it’s always fun to mix things up once in awhile. We appreciate you joining us on this journey and hope you enjoy! If you make your own version of this recipe, let us know what you thought! Thank you all for reading. Simply, Beth
