Make-Ahead Eggs: A Breakfast Game-Changer for Busy Mornings

Getting ready for school, or work, in the morning always feels a little hectic. I’d rather get a little more sleep, than worry about making a gourmet, or even hot, breakfast first thing in the morning. The struggle is real people and I just don’t find cereal that appetizing anymore. Making eggs ahead of time is a great way to have a hot breakfast without the hassle of cracking eggs or turning the stove on. Simply make these eggs when you have a few extra moments and enjoy for a few days after with a simple reheat in the microwave! A hot breakfast with healthy eggs is sure to get your busy day off to a great start!

Eggs are a great thing to make for breakfast, and even better when they are made ahead. They reheat well, making getting out the door that much easier and they are so easy to customize for different tastes! Do you prefer scrambled eggs with mushrooms, onions and peppers? Great! Not a scrambled egg person? Maybe try an omelet instead! I love making a large omelet and cutting it into strips for our daughter. I make the omelet one day and it lasts for three or four days! A fried egg can work too, but the first two ideas in this paragraph are better in my opinion.

When you are storing these eggs make sure to label and date your containers. Whether you are freezing, or just making ahead for the next few days, dating will help to remind you how old the eggs are.

If you don’t want to make the actual eggs in advance, think about just prepping the ingredients. Spinach, mushrooms, onions, ham, cheese and more can all be preppred and portioned for easy mixing. I actually think that the prep work is the most time consuming part of cooking. I try to prep dinner in the morning so that I just have to do the actual cooking at night. Makes my evenings so much easier. It also makes them healthier, because if I don’t feel like that prep work and it isn’t done, I’ll make a pizza or something similar. The prep works really boosts your value of stree-free cooking allowing for stree-free morning and quality food in your stomach.
