Summer DIY Project Inspiration

Summer is filled with great weather, outside activities and so much fun. There are so many ways to bring some DIY into your summer life and enjoy making some fun projects inside and out. No matter your age and if you plan to do some projects alone or with your family, you are sure to find something to fit your style on this list!

Why DIY in the summer? Summer equals longer days, which means that there is more time to fill. Filling your extra time with crafts and projects is so much better than television and video games (in my opinion). It is a great way to relieve boredom and frustration for families and kids, especially when you work on these projects together. Summer can get expensive with kids out of school, vacations to go on and so much more that these ideas cost nothing, or very less, and can help keep the extra fun inexpensive. What is better than that?!

We brainstormed quite a few ideas for the summer and here are some of our favorites:

Want to be successful with your DIY sessions and not give up half-way through? The best tips I can offer for a finished project are to 1. Collect and organize your supplies before you begin. If you have to stop to search for a random object, you may not come back. Having all the supplies right in front of you will help you to stay focused and motivated to finish your project. 2. Get someone else involved. DIY projects can be a lot of fun in small groups. This makes them ideal for families, couples and friend groups! 3. My last tip is to have fun and just try your best. You finished product doesn’t have to be perfect. Enjoy the process and the time you spent doing something creative!

We will be working on some of the DIY projects over the next couple of months. Stay tuned as we post about what we have finished and how we did it in upcoming Make It Monday posts. We hope this inspires you to brainstorm your own ideas and motivates you to DIY! As always, thank you for reading and joining us on this journey. We enjoy learning and growing with you all. Simply, Beth
